Job Summary
This role supports Plant Security management in developing, implementing, and overseeing the Physical Protection Program for the Xe-100 plant. Responsibilities include security planning for construction, managing Access Authorization and Fitness for Duty programs, supporting training and qualification for security personnel prior to fuel receipt, and maintaining the Safeguards Information (SGI) program.
Responsibilities- Assist in creating and implementing security plans for the construction phase of the Xe-100 plant, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Support the development and implementation of Access Authorization and Fitness for Duty programs for both the construction site and operational facility.
- Collaborate in creating and executing a comprehensive training and qualification program for security personnel, preparing them for responsibilities related to fuel receipt and facility security.
- Administer and operate X-energy's SGI program, ensuring personnel requiring access are properly vetted and cleared in accordance with regulations.
- Provide technical support for the security system infrastructure, including surveillance and intrusion detection, ensuring all systems operate correctly and comply with safety and security protocols.
- Maintain awareness of NRC regulatory requirements, ensuring all security practices are in line with federal, state, and local regulations related to nuclear safety, physical protection, and SGI handling.
- Contribute to the development and execution of defense strategies for the Xe-100 plant facility to ensure effective physical protection against security threats and incidents.
- Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, regulatory agencies, and security teams, to facilitate smooth security operations.
- Lead the execution of core tasks and responsibilities with independent judgment and provide guidance to junior team members.
- Serve as a mentor to junior team members and share knowledge of industry best practices and standards across the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Twenty years of relevant experience required; nuclear experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field from an accredited institution, or five years of relevant experience.
- Expert understanding of NRC regulatory requirements, including physical protection and SGI management.
- Expert knowledge of security systems such as surveillance, intrusion detection, and access control systems (hardware and software).
- Advanced experience in developing and implementing security plans, access control programs, and fitness for duty programs.
- Advanced experience in defense strategy development and incident response planning.

Hours:
8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday
Travel Expectation: 10%
CompensationSalary Range: $140,000 – $195,000 (based on qualifications, experience, and market data)
