Full/Part Time: Full‑Time

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, Emergency Management, Fire Science, or other related fields.
• In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a high school diploma or GED plus four additional years of experience in an operationally complex environment, coordinating response and recovery activities.

• Four (4) years of experience in safety event command, emergency response, or recovery in an operationally complex environment, driving performance and results.

• Valid Driver’s License

• Experience leading critical safety events in multiple settings and organizations.
• Instructor certification for emergency preparedness training.
• Completion of Federal Emergency Management Agency independent training courses.
• Certification in fire inspection or investigation (e.g., NFPA).
• Certification in emergency management.
• Instructor certification through an emergency response or emergency management entity.
• Knowledge of transit operations and relevant emergency management principles.
• Master’s degree in Emergency Management, Operations, Business, Public Administration or related fields.

• Must satisfactorily complete a medical examination for this position and be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Lead and support instruction of frontline, management, and executive personnel, including personnel from jurisdictional response agencies and other partners.
• Develop and revise safety or response‑related instructional materials and curriculum for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support on‑scene representatives of emergency safety events, coordinating between all parties to establish Incident Command and providing strategic, operational and tactical advice.
• Support acquisition, distribution, maintenance and testing of fire/life/safety equipment; support exercises; conduct inspections and audits; review safety events; and feed data into the Safety Management System.
• Ensure all safety events are managed safely and timely, exercising authority to stop work or modify operations when necessary.
• Ensure effective communication between internal and external emergency personnel and other stakeholders; coordinate response of various Safety Department resources.
• Play a critical role in programs and projects for continuous improvement of Safety Management and emergency preparedness functions.
• Work any shift (days, evenings, or overnights) and be available for a rotating 24/7/365 on‑call capacity, supporting surge safety event activities and planned events at all hours.
• Maintain and promote awareness and accountability with safety policies and procedures; encourage reporting of safety concerns in line with the Agency Safety Plan and regulatory requirements.

• Medical examination and drug/alcohol screening for safety‑sensitive positions.
• Review of a current motor vehicle report.
