Position SummarySolar Electricians are the face of SES on the jobsite. They are qualified electrical workers responsible for interconnecting PV systems with the grid. The Solar Electrician is responsible for safely executing all aspects of solar electrical construction in the field, including safety setup, conduit, wiring, terminations, interconnections, and groundwork. They are the boots‑on‑the‑ground decision maker of SES installations and represent the company’s mission, vision, and values with other trades, general contractors, clients, homeowners, and the general public, always making sure that the company is represented in a professional and courteous light.
They must possess a strong background in construction and demonstrate excellent leadership abilities.
- Active Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC journeyman or master electrical license is required
- Proof of 4‑year apprenticeship strongly preferred
- Expert knowledge of pertinent electrical and building codes, particularly NEC Chapters 1, 220, 240, 250, 690, and 705
- Highly organized with the ability to multi‑task and set priorities
- Effectively coordinate and communicate with others
- Ability to succeed in a fast‑paced, community environment
- Safety – comfortable enforcing safety rules with everyone; including supervisors, customers, and co‑workers
- Efficiency – able to produce significant output with minimal waste
- Teamwork – reaches out to peers and cooperates with supervisors to establish collaborative working relationships

- Compensation based on experience: $30–$45/hour with potential for overtime
- Bonus incentive program up to $1,000 per quarter
