Benchmark Automation & Controls is looking for a skilled HVAC professional with5+ years of experience who is ready to make the transition into the exciting world of Building Automation and Controls (BAS).
This is a great opportunity for an experienced HVAC technician who understands mechanical systems and wants to develop expertise in controls, automation, and smart building technology.
What You’ll Do:- Install, troubleshoot, and service building automation and HVAC control systems
- Apply your HVAC knowledge to diagnose issues between mechanical equipment and control systems
- Assist with programming, calibration, and commissioning of BAS systems
- Read and interpret HVAC drawings, schematics, and control sequences
- Work with customers, project teams, and technicians to resolve system issues
- Perform point-to-point testing, startup, and system verification
- Learn industry-leading BAS technologies through hands-on experience and training
- 5+ years of HVAC service or installation experience
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, including air handlers, rooftop units, VAVs, chillers, boilers, and related equipment
- Experience troubleshooting electrical components, sensors, thermostats, and HVAC equipment
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Willingness and desire to learn building automation and controls technology
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
- Experience with HVAC controls, BAS, or automation systems
- Electrical background or experience troubleshooting low-voltage systems
- Familiarity with HVAC sequences of operation
- Experience with brands such as Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Trane, Carrier, or similar systems
