As a Term Family Advocate Community Services Aide III for Early Childhood Services' Birth to Five Head Start program, you will:

• Maintain a case load of (at minimum) 37 enrolled families.
• Initiate the family partnership agreement. A Family Partnership Agreement (FPA) will be completed that includes questions regarding specific family needs, as well as strengths, resources, and supports. Together, the FA and family will establish goals and develop strategies to achieve those goals. Family progress will be monitored, and supports and resources will be provided by the FA. The frequency of contacts varies depending on family needs.
• Facilitate family literacy by supporting parent education activities/resources in the topic areas such as parenting, child growth and development, and English for Speakers of other Languages (ESOL).
• Conduct family engagement services in the family's preferred language, or through an interpreter to the extent possible, and ensure families have the opportunity to share personal information in an environment in which they feel safe.
• Facilitate monthly parent meetings.
• Refer families to job placement and training resources in the community.
• Develop a list of community resources that assist in meeting family needs.
• Assist parents and caregivers to access childcare, early childhood, and family support services, referrals to additional programs and resources, and parenting information.
• Collect and input client information into established databases as required by the County, and track responses and report on patterns of inquiries as part of the data collection and input effort.
• Provide follow-up case management as needed by families.
• Participate in outreach to the community and in parenting education as needed, based on various outreach events targeting the early childhood community.
• Provide individualized or group parenting, school readiness, and child development information in a variety of settings.
• Engage and communicate with families in their own homes.
• Share information in culturally appropriate ways and refer parents to community resources.
• Effectively communicate early childhood development, school readiness, and parenting information.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
