Software Engineer – Level 3 (Dev Ops)

Security Clearance: TS/SCI – Polygraph Required

Telework Available:
16 Hours/week based on tasking

The Dev Ops Software Engineer will integrate and maintain automated infrastructure solutions to ensure high availability and scalability of high-performance computing systems in a Linux environment. The role focuses on developing framework solutions, streamlining deployment pipelines, and optimizing system performance in collaboration with stakeholders.

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Debug existing software and correct defects.
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
• Write or review software and system documentation.
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
• Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
• Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards and conferring with users or system engineers.
• Develop and execute test procedures for software components.
• Modify existing software to adapt to new hardware or to improve its performance.
• Recommend and implement suggestions for improving documentation and software development process standards.
• Oversee one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project.
• Coordinate software installation on a system and monitor performance to ensure operational specifications are met.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, plus seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• OR Nine (9) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Experience with Linux CLI and shell scripting (Bash/Python).
• Extensive software development experience with Java and Python.
• Experience with CI/CD principles and tools such as Git Lab CI.
• Experience with IaC principles and automation using Ansible.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and deployment under Kubernetes.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus/Grafana.
• Knowledge of stream/batch big data processing and analytic frameworks.
• Knowledge of source code control systems (Git) and branching strategies.
