Position: Splunk Software Engineer 2 with Security Clearance

Job Description

Splunk Software Engineer 2 – Annapolis Junction, Maryland. SF Team / Software Engineering (Full‑Time) – On‑site. At Wyetech, you’ll be at the center of an award‑winning corporate culture, breaking technological barriers and solving real‑world problems for our federal government customers.

The Splunk Software Engineer position offers the opportunity to lead mission‑critical programs that enable secure information sharing across multiple domains. The role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing‑intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real‑time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.

Due to federal contract requirements, United States citizenship and an appropriate security clearance are required. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with agency‑appropriate polygraph.

Responsibilities
  • Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
  • Resolves software problem reports using appropriate software development and design methodologies.
  • Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade‑offs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS, and requirements analysis from system level to individual components.
  • Analyzes user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
  • Debugs existing software and corrects defects.
  • Provides recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
  • Designs and codes new software or modifies existing software to add new features.
  • Integrates existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
  • Develops simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
  • Writes or reviews software and system documentation.
  • Serves as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process used on a particular project.
  • Designs or implements complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.
  • Develops or implements algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
  • Assists with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
  • Develops software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, consulting with users or system engineers; analyzes systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigates problem areas.
  • Modifies existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve its performance.
  • Designs, develops and modifies software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
Qualifications
  • TS/SCI clearance with agency‑appropriate polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree with fourteen (14) years of experience in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity,

    * * eighteen (18) years of experience with a high‑school diploma as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Required Technical Skills
  • Five (5) years’ experience with object‑oriented programming languages such as C++ and Java.
  • Must have SPLUNK, ROXY and RHEL 9 experience.
Desired Technical Skills
  • Testing and Linux systems administration experience is a plus.
