Application Development Expert

Position Overview

Interclypse is supporting several Maryland state agencies in the modernization and sustainment of critical systems. This exciting opportunity provides candidates with the ability to contribute to the long-term health and success of the state while continuing to learn and grow professionally within Interclypse’s growth mindset culture.

All positions are required to be onsite at various locations in Maryland.

• Develop enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features;
• Provide expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business;
• Determine specifications, then plans, designs, and develop the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes (either individually or in concert with a project team);
• Assist in the most difficult support problems;
• Develop programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse;
• Understand and consistently apply the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies;
• Research and maintain knowledge in emerging technologies and possible applications to the business;
• Act as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor and change agent.

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent work experience. (

  A Master’s degree is preferred.)
• Seven (7) years of IT and business/industry work experience.
• Three (3) years as a technical expert in an IT organization. This individual coaches and mentors the junior technical staff. The position will also provide technical input into the most complex and high impact IT decisions. This individual will be accountable for the most complex enterprise-wide applications and issues, translating highly complex concepts for peers and customers. The position must have in-depth knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art programming languages and an object‑oriented approach in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs.

The base salary range provided is not adjusted for geographic differences associated with where the work is being performed. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, candidate’s experience and education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business consideration.
