- We are seeking aSoftware Engineer to support the development, sustainment, and troubleshooting of future mission capabilities. The ideal candidate will work on the design, implementation, testing, and integration of software solutions that incorporateCOTS, GOTS, and FOSS products, packages, and libraries. The successful candidate will contribute to a mission-focused software development environment, leveraging modern programming languages, container technologies, and Dev Ops practices to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
you'll do
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot mission-critical software applications.
- Design, implement, test, and integrate software capabilities with existing systems and third-party technologies.
- Develop solutions using
Pythonand modern software development practices. - Support containerized application development and deployment using
Docker and Kubernetes. - Create and maintain
Helm Chartsfor Kubernetes-based service deployments. - Develop automation scripts and support operational efficiency improvements.
- Troubleshoot complex software and system integration issues.
- Support CI/CD workflows, infrastructure automation, and source control practices.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable mission capabilities.
- U.S. Citizenship with an activeTS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- One of the following education/experience combinations:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related disciplineplus5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related disciplineplus7+ years of Software Engineering experience.
- 9+ years of Software Engineering experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Experience working with Linux command-line tools and environments.
- Experience with
Rust programming conceptsor the ability and willingness to learn Rust. - Experience with
No
SQL databases, including
MongoDB. - Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containerd.
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.
- Experience creating
Helm Chartsfor Kubernetes deployments. - Familiarity with messaging frameworks such asRabbitMQ.
- Familiarity withCI/CD principles and tools, including
GitLab CI. - Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools such as Ansible.
- Experience using
Git source control.
- Experience with SQL databases, including
PostgreSQL. - Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite, including
Jira and Confluence. - Experience supporting modern Dev Ops environments and automated software delivery pipelines.
The pay range for this role is:
220, USD per year (Annapolis Junction, MD)
