We are looking for an experienced Agile Developer
- Software Architect who will own the design, delivery, and evolution of our AWS infrastructure and associated application services.
The ideal candidate blends deep AWS expertise (Lambda, Open Search, DynamoDB, SQS, Cloud Watch, etc.) with hands on Java and Python development skills and can mentor a small team of junior engineers while driving architectural best practices across the program.
Responsibilities:
- Design & Blueprint – Create end to end, scalable, secure, and cost optimized architectures for event driven services, data pipelines, and search solutions on AWS.
- Hands On Development – Write production grade Java (Spring Boot) and Python (Lambdas) services that run as AWS Lambda functions or containerized workloads (Kubernetes).
- Infrastructure as Code – Define and maintain IaC, ensuring reproducibility and version control of the entire stack
- Data & Messaging Layer – Architect and implement solutions leveraging DynamoDB, Open Search, SQS, SNS for high throughput, low latency data access and streaming.
- Observability & Reliability – Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting for Cloud Watch and custom dashboards.
- CI/CD & Dev Sec Ops
- Be familiar with Gitlab pipeline, static code analysis, blue-green/canary deployments. - Technical Leadership – Mentor 2 4 junior developers, conduct code reviews, run architecture deep dives, and champion best practice adoption (clean code, design patterns)
- Collaboration – Be able to communicate technical details / solutions as well as roadblocks to leadership and business stakeholders and provide robust solutions as needed.
- Documentation – Produce clear, up to date architectural diagrams, run books, and knowledge base articles to enable cross team consumption. Be able to prepare Standard Operating Procedure for frequently executed as well as on-call operations.
Qualifications
- TS/SCI Poly - with CI poly within last 7 years
- BS + 12 years experience
Desired Skills (2 of the below)
- Java, Spring boot or python
- Microservice architectures
- CI/CD Tools: AWS tools, Maven, Gitlab & Git Ops;
Kubernetes, docker - Database :
No
SQL / MongoDB Query and Schema Design - OAuth/OIDC Implementation experience
- Test frameworks and automation to include Playwright and Cucumber

The projected compensation range for this position is $200K - $250K. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, weinvest in our employees beyond just compensation.
