About the role
- We are seeking an Automated Test Engineer to support and help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of this mission-critical system. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, passionate about software quality, and experienced in developing robust automated test solutions. In this role, you'll collaborate with a cross-functional Agile team of software developers, systems engineers, Dev Ops engineers, and product owners to validate new functionality, enhance test automation, and support the continued modernization of dissemination tools.
- This position is based in Annapolis Junction, MD, withup to two days of telework per weekas project tasking allows.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated UI and API test suites using
Cypress. - Execute automated test suites, analyze results, troubleshoot failures, and document defects and testing metrics.
- Partner with Dev Ops and software engineering teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (such as Git Lab CI/CD).
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and demos.
- Collaborate with developers and systems engineers to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage for new features and bug fixes.
- Help improve software quality, reliability, and release confidence through automation and continuous testing. the specific responsibilities and job functions of the role
Qualifications
- U.S Citizenship and active TS/SCI with polygraph
- Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites using
Cypress(automation experience should be clearly reflected on your resume). - Experience testing modern web applications, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Experience working within Agile software development environments.
- Familiarity with collaboration tools such asJiraand
Confluence. - Experience using
Gitfor version control.
Preferred Experience
- Experience integrating automated testing intoCI/CD pipelines(Git Lab CI/CD or similar).
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud-based architectures.
- Basic understanding of Dockerand containerized application testing.
- Familiarity with government reporting and dissemination systems or related domain knowledge.
The pay range for this role is:
110, USD per year (Annapolis Junction, MD)
