Job Overview

We are searching for an experienced Senior Drainage Project Engineer to support our Southwest Region located in Texas.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Collecting and analyzing data for inclusion in project plans and reports.
  • Using computer engineering software to design stormwater management and storm drain systems, as well as soil erosion and sediment control systems.
  • Analyzing and designing hydrologic and hydraulic models for transportation improvement projects.
  • Permitting with different regulatory and water management agencies.
  • Assisting and preparing project plans using Open Roads Designer.
  • Contributing to the preparation and/or modification of considerable scope and complexity engineering reports and calculations for a wide variety of projects.
  • Preparing and assisting in the preparation of project construction details, quantities, cost estimates and project specifications.
  • Reviewing project quantity estimates, details, and check calculations and drawings for compliance to project requirements.
  • Preparing and assisting with the preparation of project schedules.
  • Collaborating across multiple disciplines, subconsultants, and other professionals to successfully deliver quality projects within budget and schedule.
  • Overseeing project design activities, supervising production efforts, and mentoring junior level support staff and other designers.
  • Performing other professional, management, marketing and networking duties as assigned.
  • Assisting with roadway project development and other miscellaneous civil engineering tasks for project design and delivery.
What You Need To Have
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Valid Professional Engineering Licensure or the ability to acquire it within 6 months.
  • 10+ years of relative/progressive drainage/water resources and TxDOT experience.
  • Experience with Open Roads Designer, Storm CAD, ICPR, HEC-RAS, GIS and/or SUDA software.
  • Previous TxDOT drainage design experience and strong knowledge of TxDOT standards and procedures.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Master’s in Water Resources field.
