Responsibilities
  • Greet patients upon arrival, sign them in, obtain insurance information and any other necessary data.
  • Provide intake and new patient forms, along with copies of office policies and legally required documents.
  • Process payments from patients for co-pays and uninsured visits.
  • Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based on provided schedule guidelines.
  • Maintain hard-copy patient records and files stored in the EMR system.
  • Audit schedules to ensure patient insurance eligibility.
  • Provide patients with support and guidance as needed.
  • Demonstrate and promote UVVC core values:
    Understanding, Nurturing, Ingenuity, Trust, Excellence, and Diversity.
  • Adhere to UVVC Standards of Conduct as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA and applicable laws.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years’ experience in medical assisting or administration.
  • Experience with surgery scheduling.
  • Familiarity with ECW is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software.
