Patient Care Tech (PCT) Med Surg (Full-Time/Nights)
Work location:
Texas Health Rockwall - 3150 Horizon Rd, Rockwall, TX 75032
Work hours:
Full Time, 36 hours weekly, Nights 7:00pm-7:00am with rotating weekends. Training:
Must be able to attend training at the corporate office in Arlington Monday-Friday 8am-5pm during the first week of hire

Qualifications:
Here's What You Need:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1 year of experience as a PCT preferred
- PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire is required upon hire or EMT
- Emergency Medical Technician
- Military experience with medical training equivalent (equivalent to EMT-B) required upon hire or Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program required upon hire or 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification required upon hire and BCLS
- Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required CPI
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training required within 90days of hire and maintained annually - Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
What You Will Do:
CARE OF PATIENT/TECHNICAL
SKILLS:
- Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.
- Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse.
- Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
PARTNERSHIP:
- Uses Professional Practice Model philosophy to work in partnership with patients, families, physicians, peers and all other disciplines.
- Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in schedule and/or workload assignment necessary to meet changing needs of the individual patient or unit.
WORKPLACE/PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Maintains and enhances patient care skills.
QUALITY AND SAFETY:
- Assists in the identification of ineffective and costly processes and takes action to improve them.
