DEFINITION
Under the supervision of the Aquatics and Fitness Coordinator, the Rec Plex Facility Lead is responsible for the administration of the business operations of the Rec Plex facility, including membership and program registration. The Facility Lead must provide outstanding customer service and model it to hourly employees. The Facility Lead is responsible for the member service program, which includes prospecting for new members, servicing existing members, directing member service representatives, and promoting a positive public image of the Rec Plex within the community.
SUPERVISIONRECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives administrative direction from the Aquatics and Fitness Coordinator and upper management.
Exercises supervision of the Kid Zone, Trampoline, Rockwall, Rec Bar, Front Desk, Cleaning, and Aquatic Staff while on duty.
ESSENTIAL AND MARGINAL FUNCTION STATEMENTSEssential and marginal responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions
- Has responsibility for the administration of the business operations of the facility, including membership, program registration, billing, and collections.
- Responsible for directing the Kid Zone, Trampoline, Rockwall, Rec Bar, Front Desk, Cleaning, and Aquatic staff while on duty.
- Performs light janitorial duties including laundry, cleaning, and vacuuming.
- Manages the member service program, prospecting for new members, servicing existing members, and promoting a positive public image of the facility within the community.
- Establishes and maintains collaborations with community organizations.
- Implements membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members.
- Creates a member‑focused culture and models relationship‑building skills in all interactions.
- Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction.
- Assists in training and development of personnel as needed.
- Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Has the ability to work flexible hours as mandated by the program schedule.
- Has acceptable attendance and the ability to work well with people.
- Any specific requirements that are stated in the “offer of employment letter”.
- Safety for oneself and others is a primary responsibility of every employee.
Marginal Functions
- Enforces facility rules and regulations.
- Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge of
Daily operations of recreation facility including directing of staff, scheduling, data entry, inventory management, marketing and public relations, and program implementation assistance.
Ability to
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Promote programs and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members.
- Promote marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provide ongoing support to program managers on related issues.
- Ensure proper implementation of Rec Plex facility procedures.
- Review and update procedures and communicate changes to staff.
- Coordinate with staff as necessary on financial transactions.
- Make bank deposits in a timely manner.
- Assist in organizing membership events.
- Ensure that Silver Sneakers/Corporate Billing are completed/submitted correctly to receive payments in a timely manner.
- Lead assigned aspects of special events, including birthday party/facility rental scheduling.
- Assist in training Member Services Representatives in emergency procedures, operating procedures, and customer service skills.
- Maintain an adequate supply of office forms, equipment (i.e., postage, copy/fax machine supplies), and membership supplies.
- Maintain member files and ensure confidentiality of records.
Experience and Training Guidelines
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
Three to five years of previous and demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
Training:
Must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
WORKING CONDITIONSEnvironmental conditions include indoor and outdoor recreational facilities and irregular work hours.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS- Essential and marginal functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for extensive standing, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, squatting, climbing, or crouching for prolonged periods of time.
- Sitting for prolonged periods.
- Working on hands and knees at or below ground level.
- Operating motorized vehicles.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds.
Possession of a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
