Overview
Texas Oncology is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team! This full‑time position will support the Rockwall location in Medical Oncology. Typical hours for this position are Mon‑Fri 8:30 a.m. ‑ 5:00 p.m. The position will also help out the Mesquite office 1‑2 times a week. This position will be either a level 1, 2 or Sr based on candidate experience.

What does the Advanced Practice Provider do? (including but not limited to)The primary role of the APP is to provide direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care, in collaboration with practice physicians. The APP impacts quality of patient care and patient outcomes throughout the care continuum. APPs support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients.
- Initiate and document appropriate interventions; evaluate and record patient/family response and prescribe therapies as indicated.
- Perform procedures after appropriate training.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide education.
- Promote wellness and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Incorporate the developing knowledge of evidence‑based research into clinical practice.
- Develop knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
- Complete patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
- May provide case management for patients and their families, given limited knowledge of community resources.
- May promote or provide staff education.
- Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after‑hour calls.

The ideal candidate for the Advanced Practice Provider position will have the following background and experience:
Nurse Practitioner
Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. This position is entry‑level and typically requires a minimum of 0‑3 years post‑MSN experience, preferably in the chosen specialty. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
OR
Physician Assistant
Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA certification. This position is entry‑level and typically requires 0‑3 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant, preferably in the chosen specialty. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in the practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.

Clinical Nurse Specialist
Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program. This position is entry‑level and typically requires a minimum of 0‑3 years post‑MSN experience, preferably in the chosen specialty. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Work EnvironmentExposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
