Project Delivery Consultant – Energy & Infrastructure Projects
An innovative provider of energy, infrastructure, and building upgrade solutions is in need of a skilled Project Delivery Consultant to assist with project development activities from initial assessment to project delivery. As a vital link between various departments, the Project Delivery Consultant will aid in establishing winning project strategies, accurate budgets, realistic schedules, and successful execution plans to secure new projects and ensure successful delivery.
The ideal candidate will bring project management experience, construction knowledge, estimating skills, financial expertise, and strong customer relationship skills, particularly within large commercial, government, or infrastructure projects.
Project Development & Pre-Construction:
- Create project execution plans, delivery strategies, schedules, and preliminary budgets during project pursuit.
- Support project opportunities from initial assessment to contract award.
- Work closely with various teams to develop competitive project solutions.
- Assist in vendor selection, subcontractor strategy, value engineering, constructability reviews, and risk mitigation planning.
- Develop detailed estimates, labor forecasts, subcontractor estimates, and project schedules.
- Participate in contract negotiations and help establish favorable commercial terms.
- Evaluate project scope, customer requirements, and delivery risks.
Project Planning & Execution Support:
- Create and maintain project schedules using scheduling platforms.
- Determine staffing needs and resource allocation plans for project execution support.
- Coordinate with delivery leadership to forecast construction and project management resource needs.
- Assist with project setup, documentation control, and project governance.
- Provide technical support to construction managers during project execution.
- Support change management efforts and ensure proper documentation of scope modifications.
Customer & Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, contractors, subcontractors, and industry partners.
- Establish customer touchpoints throughout the project lifecycle.
- Present project plans, schedules, budgets, and strategies to clients and stakeholders.
- Influence project decisions through strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Provide advice during project development and transition phases.
Financial & Commercial Leadership:
- Support project financial planning and forecasting activities.
- Contribute to achieving project profitability goals through accurate estimating and risk assessment.
- Participate in project financial reviews and reporting.
- Assist in developing project cash flow strategies and contract structures.
- Negotiate payment milestones.
Compliance, Safety & Improvement:
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and code requirements.
- Promote safety in project planning and execution.
- Support project risk management and documentation.
- Participate in project closeout reviews and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain high ethical standards in all business activities.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in project delivery, construction management, or related fields.
- Strong background in project estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and planning.
- Experience managing complex projects in various sectors.
- Proficiency in various software programs.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting energy performance contracting, infrastructure modernization, or sustainability projects.
- Strong understanding of construction delivery methods and procurement strategies.
- Experience evaluating project risk and contract structures.
- Familiarity with public sector, healthcare, or government projects.
- Strong project leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Strong negotiation, persuasion, and relationship management skills.
