What you will doUnder general direction, you will be responsible for the service and repair, design, configuration, and operation of complete HVAC building control systems and other low voltage control sub‑systems (i.e., lighting, nurse call, data networks, etc.) to meet the intent of the customers and JCI goals. Accountable for quality, timeliness, and efficiency of service and repair and designs.
How you will do it- Design, configure and service technically complex building control systems for the customer's facility.
- Creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts, schedules and electrical schematics as required.
- Develop and test software programs necessary to operate the system per customer facility requirements' intent.
- Coordinate and create necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals, services and/or installation.
- Select, order, and track delivery of materials for assigned jobs.
- Assist in loading and commissioning of all system and network‑level controllers as required.
- Assist in validation of complete system functionality and solve problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
- Provide field change information to the team for the creation of as‑built drawings and software.
- Keep management, JCI contractor and customer informed of job progress and issues.
- Assist in performing site‑specific training for owner/operator on the total building control system.
- Participate in coordination and release meetings with sales and service operations.
- Perform value engineering to provide cost‑effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- May provide work direction to Service Controls Technician I, Senior I, and Senior II Controls Technicians.
- Adhere to safety standards and maintain a high standard of employee and subcontractor safety.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or service, or HVAC industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.
- Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building subsystems using various industry protocols (e.g., LON, BACnet, etc.).
- Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non‑technical audience.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly computer‑related drafting tools.
Hourly range: $35.00–$48.00. This rate is determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
