Structural Bridge Engineer – AECOM.

Location:

Rocky Hill, CT (or Boston, MA).

AECOM is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer to be based in Rocky Hill, CT or Boston, MA. In this role, the Bridge Engineer will lead the design effort and project management for bridge projects in Connecticut and other states through AECOM’s Northeast region.

The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:

• Lead Structural Engineer on projects including reviewing designs and plans.
• Provide specialized technical input on transportation related projects.
• Manage bridge projects including design tasks and coordinating work with engineering staff.
• Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of new bridges utilizing pre-stressed concrete, reinforced concrete, structural steel, and timber components.
• Assessment and rehabilitation design of existing bridges.
• Load evaluation of existing bridges.
• Prepare technical specifications and design documents, report writing, technical engineering support, and limited inspection during construction.
• Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
• Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and four (4) years of relevant experience in transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license and willingness to obtain reciprocity in the jurisdiction of the projects.
• Experience using Micro Station, AutoCAD, Open Bridge, and/or other similar computer software.

• Six (6) years of relevant experience.
• Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering.
• Relevant experience working on 'mega' projects that are at/near a billion dollars.
• Project experience with CTDOT, MassDOT and/or other State DOTs is desired.
• Experience with CSi, Midas, AASHTOWare, and Bentley Suite.
• Railroad bridge experience is a plus.
