AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Inspector, Highway & Bridge to perform construction engineering and inspections on a variety of construction projects including railroads, bridges and highways in Connecticut.
Responsibilities- Perform assignments in construction layout, making, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
- Work with minimal direction, using experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals under general supervision of the Construction Project Manager.
- Set own project deadlines.
- Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
- Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
- Perform daily field inspections and maintain inspection records.
- Participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
- Track quality assurance progress.
- Provide input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
- High school diploma/GED and 10 years of related experience performing inspections on bridge and/or roadway construction projects or equivalence.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License; must pass Motor Vehicle Records review.
- NICET certification Level 3 (or ability to obtain required level).
- Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant field.
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including overnight work.
- Experience working with Connecticut Dept. of Transportation (CTDOT).
- Sponsorship assistance is available.
- Relocation is not available for this position.
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
