The Analytics department at MTU Aero Engines North America works with state‑of‑the‑art analysis tools and methods with pride to ensure flight safety. This position offers exposure to and close collaboration with all relevant discipline experts at MTU Aero Engines AG, as well as meaningful contributions to advancement of standard processes and tools. The candidate will perform thermal analysis on existing and future emerging aircraft engine component technology in Low‑Pressure Turbines, High‑Pressure Compressors, and Turbine Center Frames with conscious goals of optimization and significant reduction in fuel consumption, CO₂ emissions and contrail formation.
EssentialFunctions Include:
- Utilize engineering applications of Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer such as conduction, convection, radiation, and air system flows.
- Proficient Knowledge in Hypermesh, Python, or equivalent software packages
- Independent thinking that can further drive state‑of‑the‑art analysis tools and procedures
- Leadership skills to instruct, delegate, or coordinate analysis work
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in relevant field
- 5+ years of related engineering experience
- Knowledge of Gas Turbine Engine Performance and Thermodynamics
- Occasional travel may be required (1x‑2x per year)
- Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
