We believe transportation is more than movement, it's the foundation of connected, thriving communities. As part of HDR's Transportation Business Group, you'll help shape the systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably.

From designing resilient highways and iconic bridges to advancing transit, passenger and freight rail, aviation, federal transportation ports and marine infrastructure, your work will directly support economic vitality, public safety, sustainable and resilient communities and quality of life. We are all employee-owners at HDR, which is the foundation of our collaborative culture that connects employees around the world.

HDR has an excellent career opportunity for a seasoned environmental professional to lead and grow our New England States (NES) Environmental Sciences and Planning (ES&P) team, a team that supports all business lines and client market sectors. The ES&P BCL will support Area Business Group leadership on the development and implementation of technical and business development strategies. • Collaborate on development and implementation of a strategy to broaden HDRs ES&P market presence and delivery in NES.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and advocacy to a large, interdisciplinary team of environmental professionals.
  • Lead the team in a way to bring a collaborative team vision and overall consistent team culture.
  • Collaborate and integrate business class efforts with local, regional, and national leaders within HDR.
  • Oversee the delivery of project services and deliverables to meet client expectations.
  • Lead and/or participate in project teams as project manager, environmental QA/QC, environmental advisor, and/or environmental lead for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and/or environmental permitting or compliance projects for a variety of client types.
  • Orchestrate work sharing including coordination of staff availability, workload, and priorities.
  • Actively champion opportunities to grow the team.
  • Drive the can-do spirit among all parties.
  • Participate in business class practice and professional discipline groups, project teams and activities to continually improve standards and best practices.
  • Direct the building of ES&P project teams and assignment of staff to projects.
  • Drive a quality culture with the office and with project teams.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand
  • Preference given to candidates currently residing in the New England Area

Required Qualifications:
