Wastewater Operator

Weston & Sampson is seeking a licensed Wastewater Operator with 3+ years of experience to support the operations and maintenance in and around Rocky Hill, Connecticut.

• This individual will be responsible for attending multiple wastewater systems that involve testing/analysis, sampling, and standard operation and maintenance procedures in accordance with CT DEEP regulations.
• Other duties include performing daily rounds and visual inspections of all plant equipment, monitor and observe operating conditions, adjust wastewater treatment equipment such as valves, pumps, blowers, dewatering equipment and performs routine lab test and calibrates all meters associated with lab analysis.
• Must also maintain the facility to be in compliance with all safety requirements, perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting of plant equipment and will be responsible for housekeeping and maintaining plant grounds.
• Preparing monthly reports for the water systems along with client interface is required.

• 3-5 Years experience in wastewater operations, collection systems, pump stations, some experience may be from drinking water work (treatment or distribution)
• A valid CT Class II Wastewater Treatment Operator License is required
• A CT Class III preferred or the ability to obtain within one year
• A CT Water Treatment and/or distribution license is a plus
• Must be able to climb ladders and lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with computers in a Windows based environment
• Knowledge of CT DEEP regulations and procedures is desirable
• high school diploma or equivalent is required
• Must have valid driver's license
• Must be able to work occasional overtime, holidays, weekends and nights as required.

Pay Range: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour depending on experience
