Position: Home Equity Underwriter

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Rocky Hill, CT, with the flexibility to work remotely for a portion of the time. As a Home Equity Underwriter, you will perform day-to-day responsibilities such as assessing loan applications, determining creditworthiness, and ensuring compliance with lending regulations. You'll evaluate property appraisals, analyze financial documents, and communicate effectively with members and team members to process home equity loans efficiently.

The role requires close collaboration with other departments to enhance member experiences and uphold organizational standards.

Qualifications
  • Experience in underwriting, financial analysis, and credit analysis
  • Ability to review loan applications and supporting documentation, such as income statements and property appraisals
  • Knowledge of lending regulations, compliance standards, and mortgage industry practices
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Effective communication, member-service focus, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with financial software and other relevant technology tools
  • Prior experience in a credit union or banking environment is beneficial
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred
