SENIOR TAX ACCOUNTANT (CPA/EA)

Position SummaryPrepare and review tax returns while developing tax and financial strategies within a Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) practice. This role combines technical tax expertise with wealth management coordination in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review individual, fiduciary, exempt, corporate, and partnership tax returns in compliance with federal and state laws
- Calculate and prepare estimated federal and state tax payments for individuals and businesses
- Develop and implement tax and financial strategies for clients
- Communicate with clients and staff to ensure timely delivery of financial statement reviews focused on tax compliance and profit maximization
- Interpret, investigate, and respond to IRS and state tax agency correspondence
- Maintain current knowledge of tax law changes and business environment trends
- CPA or EA highly preferred
- 5+ years experience preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns
- Tax planning and wealth management coordination experience
- Client-facing experience with excellent communication and customer service skills
- RIA industry experience preferred
- Proficient in tax software (Lacerte, Tax Dome, Sure Prep preferred), Quick Books, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong team collaboration skills
- Supervisory experience a plus; desire to grow into leadership role
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
