Temporary RN Infection Preventionist
We are seeking a confident, experienced RN Infection Preventionist who can jump right in and take ownership of the facility's Infection Prevention program.
This is an 8-12 week Temporary assignment, working approximately 32 hours per week at $70/hour.
We are looking for someone who is experienced in Infection Prevention and can step into the role with minimal orientation and begin making an immediate impact. The ability to work independently, prioritize, identify concerns, and confidently manage the Infection Prevention program is essential.
Responsibilities:Take ownership of the facility's Infection Prevention and Control program
Conduct ongoing infection surveillance and monitor trends among residents and staff
Track, investigate, and oversee reporting of infections and potential outbreaks
Monitor infection prevention practices throughout the facility
Identify areas of concern and work collaboratively with nursing and facility leadership to address them
Ensure infection prevention policies and procedures are followed consistently
Maintain required infection control documentation and reports
Track antibiotic and IV usage within the resident population
Consult regarding wound care and track wounds and skin issues
Assist with survey readiness related to Infection Prevention
Provide direct nursing care as needed by the Nursing Services Department
Current Connecticut RN license in good standing
Previous Infection Prevention experience in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting
Confident Infection Preventionist who can hit the ground running
Strong knowledge of infection prevention practices, OSHA requirements, and long-term care regulations
Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and follow through
Strong organizational and communication skills
Previous long-term care experience preferred
Wound Care Certification preferred
Temporary Rate: $70/hour
