Security Guard

Job Summary

The PDC Security Guard will work to maintain the safety and security of the Perishable Distribution Center. The guard is responsible for monitoring the physical security and safety of the facility, utilizing CCTV, Access Control & Visitor registration systems, and regularly evaluating potential threats to maintain a high level of security. The guard must remain visible, be on alert, and respond quickly to incidents.

• Protect company assets by following and enforcing all security and safety protocols.
• Respond to all emergency situations and provide support until emergency services arrive.
• Document details for all emergencies in the Case Management System.
• Provide guidance and support to team members, visitors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols.
• Handle visitor registration and check‑in, ensuring proper credentials are provided for access.
• Escalate concerns to the site Safety Manager promptly.
• Maintain professional appearance, wear the proper uniform, and keep tools (e.g., radios) in good working order.
• Check in all inbound and outbound deliveries as directed by the site Safety Manager.
• Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.

• 3+ years of experience as a Security Manager, Police Officer, Detective, or comparable security/police role.
• Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Working knowledge of security technology such as CCTV systems and Access Control Systems.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to pay close attention to safety and security.
• Interest in protecting people and assets within the organization.

• Most of the time is spent moving about frequently on hard surfaces.
• Occasional bending, pulling, reaching, and stooping; occasional lifting up to 30 pounds.
• May require lifting and moving heavy or awkward objects over 30 pounds with assistance.
• Frequent exposure to seasonal weather during trailer and perimeter checks.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the salary range for this position is $21.50 – $25.80 per hour. Actual salaries may vary based on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
