Responsibilities- Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, assess and diagnose equipment or system malfunctions.
- Perform service, repairs, and installation on electronic fire alarm, life safety, access control, nurse call, and paging systems.
- Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and consult technical manuals, change notices, and bulletins.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and operational product manuals.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with district staff and customers, ensuring satisfaction.
- Complete service acknowledgements with proper coding via smartphones and laptops; obtain customer signatures upon completion.
- Participate in scheduled on‑call rotation and assist with after‑hours service as needed.
- Train and mentor junior service technicians.
- Offer solutions and perform upselling when appropriate, preparing quotes to support recommendations.
- 4+ years documented experience in low‑voltage electrical systems (fire/life safety, access control, nurse call, paging).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
- Knowledge of test equipment (multimeter, digital analyzer, commissioning devices).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Physical capability to lift and move equipment and tools up to 70 lbs., work in ladders, scaffolding, high‑lift equipment, ducts, crawl spaces, or above ceilings.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and potential after‑hours calls.
- Strong customer‑service orientation.
- Maintain a clean, timely truck inventory for efficient responses.
- Adherence to all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting company requirements.
- Retention of necessary national, state, and local licenses.
- NICET Level II certification.
- Experience with CCTV, IT, and IP networks.
Hourly rate: $29.00–$39.00 (determined by education, experience, skills, and market data). This position includes a competitive benefits package.
