Electrical Industrial Superintendent
The Electrical Industrial Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and coordination of electrical construction projects in industrial settings, such as power plants, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers. This is a traveling position, requiring work across the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical installations, leadership abilities, and a willingness to travel to different project sites.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management:
- Lead and manage electrical construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure all electrical work is performed according to design specifications, standards, and regulations.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, adjust resources and tasks as needed to meet project timelines.
On-Site Leadership:
- Supervise and direct electrical foremen, journeymen, and other field personnel on daily activities.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all job sites, with a strong focus on OSHA compliance.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure high-quality workmanship, adherence to safety standards, and effective troubleshooting.
Technical Expertise:
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including high-voltage systems, industrial controls, and instrumentation.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings to guide field teams in completing their tasks.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure seamless project execution.
Quality Control & Reporting:
- Ensure all electrical work meets company and industry standards, conducting inspections and testing to validate installation quality.
- Provide regular project status updates to upper management and clients, highlighting progress, issues, and solutions.
- Document daily logs, reports, and change orders, maintaining thorough project records.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Valid electrical license preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 3 years in a superintendent or leadership role.
- Experience managing large-scale industrial electrical projects, particularly in the utility or manufacturing sectors.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and industrial installations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems and equipment.
- Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.
Certifications:
- OSHA 30 certification required.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
Travel:
- Willingness to travel extensively across the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions as required by project assignments.
