Our client, a growing logistics company located in Rocky Mount, NC, is seeking an Entry-Level Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. While working as the Entry-Level Staff Accountant, you will work alongside an experienced accounting team assisting the Controller and Senior Accountants with responsibilities including:

• Bank and general ledger account reconciliations
• Assisting with month-end close activities
• Preparing and posting journal entries
• Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Maintaining accounting records and assisting with various accounting projects as needed
• Identifying opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline accounting processes and workflows

The accounting team is actively working to automate and streamline processes across accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations and analyses, recurring journal entries, allocations, consolidations, reporting, and other routine accounting activities.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys learning new systems, improving processes, and contributing to a modern, technology-driven accounting function. The position is fully in-office in Rocky Mount, NC, and offers exposure to multiple areas of accounting within the logistics industry.

To be considered for this position, you should have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting preferred)
• 0-2 years of accounting experience, including internships
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Interest in process improvement, automation, and accounting technology
• Experience with accounting software, ERP systems, Power BI, or other business technology tools is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn
