About the RoleThis role involves working as a licensed Professional Land Surveyor, contributing to one of three divisions: private land development, construction, or government work. The position is crucial for ensuring precise and reliable surveying results that support various projects, from land development to government contracts. Your expertise will help shape the success of our client's operations in Eastern North Carolina.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate multiple surveying and mapping projects from inception through completion.
- Manage and organize field crews, including scheduling, training, and travel coordination.
- Coordinate scheduling jointly with the two other division/project managers.
- Process raw field data to generate topographic contours, staking base files, road alignments, and foundation surveys.
- Build and check construction models and DTMs where applicable.
- Prepare and review boundary, topographic, and ALTA/ACSM survey maps, plats, change-of-zone maps, and easement exhibits.
- Sign and seal work product.
- Troubleshoot field issues and provide technical supervision to technicians and crews.
- Perform field checks and site verification as needed.
- Active Professional Land Surveyor license. Any state accepted, with resources and assistance for North Carolina licensure.
- Demonstrated experience in private land development surveying, construction surveying, or government/DOT surveying.
- Comfort supervising field personnel and coordinating crew scheduling.
- Willingness to commit to Eastern North Carolina long term.
- Depth in boundary survey work.
- Experience in DTM/model building.
- ALTA/NSPS and topographic survey experience.
- Heavy highway construction survey experience.
- Experience across multiple jurisdictions.
- Location:
Eastern North Carolina (on-site);
Fayetteville may also be an option. - Schedule:
Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM;
Friday 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM. - Flexible field vs. office split, ranging from 0% to 80% field time.
