In‑School Suspension (ISS) Program Facilitator

Location: Phillips Middle School, Battleboro, North Carolina

Starting Date: Immediately

Job Goal: Provide support for and ensure the safety and well‑being of students assigned to the ISS program.

• High School Diploma required;
  Two‑year college degree preferred.
• Demonstrated organizational and computer skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Successful experience working with at‑risk students.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

• Assist with daily school site program planning and operations.
• Keep statistical data, records, and evaluations on students assigned.
• Maintain a disciplined and safe environment.
• Communicate with students’ teachers when additional help with assignments is needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom.
• Maintain positive working relationships with school staff and parents/guardians.
• Assist students in writing a behavioral plan to correct inappropriate behavior.
• Encourage students to remain on task.
• Substitute at alternate workstations as required.
• Participate in staff development to enhance instructional and management skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary: Classified Salary Schedule (Edgecombe County Public Schools)

Terms of Employment: 9 months, or as determined by funding/program needs.

Evaluation: Annually, Classified Personnel Appraisal Instrument.
