Position: Interventionist (Part-time)

Interventionist

The Interventionist is responsible for supporting the academic growth and achievement of students in identified areas of need. The Interventionist will work one-on-one or in small groups with students to assess their current level of performance and provide targeted, evidence-based instruction in any academic subject area based on identified student and school needs. The Interventionist is responsible for maintaining detailed records of intervention services, monitoring student progress, and reviewing and analyzing data to determine the effectiveness of interventions.

Instructional

Setting
  • Work individually or in small groups with students to assess current levels of academic performance.
  • Provide targeted instruction in reading/English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, or other identified academic areas based on student needs.
  • Differentiate instruction and interventions to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Develop lesson plans and analyze student performance data under the direction of the Intervention Coordinator and/or school administration.
  • Implement evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions aligned with district curriculum, standards, and identified student needs.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies and interventions based on data.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and other instructional staff to support student achievement and reinforce classroom instruction.
  • Treat all students with dignity and respect.
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development, recommended training programs, conferences, and district-required in-service training.
  • Operate and care for instructional materials, technology, and equipment used to support student learning.
  • Follow directions provided by the supervising teacher, Intervention Coordinator, Principal, or other immediate supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.
Student Management
  • Establish and maintain a positive, supportive, and academically focused learning environment.
  • Assist with the supervision of students inside and outside the classroom, as assigned, including field trips, lunchroom activities, arrival, dismissal, and other school activities.
  • Support student engagement, appropriate behavior, and successful participation in intervention services.
School/Community Relations
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding students, their families, employees, and school-related matters.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information, documents, communications, and incidents with discretion and professionalism.
  • Cooperate, collaborate, and communicate professionally with teachers, administrators, support staff, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Support positive relationships among the school, families, and community.
The Interventionist Will Promote:

Assessment Responsibilities
  • Conduct and/or assist with student assessments to identify students who may benefit from intervention services, determine areas of academic need, plan instruction, and monitor progress.
  • Assess student performance on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of intervention services, student participation, progress-monitoring results, and instructional outcomes.
  • Analyze formative, diagnostic, benchmark, and other relevant assessment data to identify student strengths and areas of need.
  • Use assessment and progress-monitoring data to adjust the frequency, intensity, duration, and/or focus of interventions as appropriate.
  • Collaborate, as needed, with appropriate district and school personnel regarding students who may require additional or specialized interventions.
  • Participate in data meetings and problem-solving processes related to student achievement and intervention services.
Professional Development Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve professional competence through ongoing professional development activities.
  • Remain knowledgeable of district instructional priorities, curriculum expectations, and intervention practices.
