DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
The Site Quality Engineer creates value by supporting the assigned site with continuous improvement towards defect‑free processes that satisfy customer needs and achieve business results.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:- Quality Issue Management: Lead timely responses to plant‑level customer concerns by managing corrective action requests and driving effective containment activities.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure products and processes consistently meet initial and long‑term quality standards, including IATF, customer‑specific requirements, APQP, and PPAP documentation.
- Change Management Support: Contribute to change management and VPI activities by verifying product and process updates, confirming key measures are met, and providing data‑driven insights for decision‑making.
- Audit Participation: Support or lead less complex internal quality audits, helping maintain compliance and readiness across the organization.
- Technical Resource: Serve as a trusted quality resource for cross‑functional teams, offering expertise to guide decision‑making and resolve quality‑related questions.
- Continuous Improvement: Partner with key business functions to prioritize and execute continuous improvement initiatives using proven methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, 7‑Step Problem Solving, and IQTM tools.
- AIAG Core Tools Application: Apply a foundational understanding of AIAG core tools to support quality planning, measurement, and problem‑solving activities.
- Safe Launch Support: Participate in or lead less complex Safe Launch initiatives during VPI to ensure customer expectations are met during early production phases.
- Customer Focus: Build strong, trust‑based relationships with customers by understanding their needs and delivering solutions that support long‑term satisfaction and product quality.
- Effective Communication: Communicate clearly and confidently across different audiences by tailoring messages, anticipating questions, and ensuring shared understanding to support quality and operational decisions.
- Quality & Manufacturing Expertise: Demonstrate a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and quality methodologies by applying APQP, PPAP, AIAG core tools, and continuous improvement practices to ensure products and processes consistently meet requirements.
- Problem Solving & Decision Support: Use structured, data‑driven problem‑solving methods to identify root causes, evaluate risks, implement strong corrective actions, and guide stakeholders toward balanced, quality‑focused decisions.
- Project & Change Management: Manage scope, timelines, and resources effectively when supporting product changes or VPI activities, ensuring quality deliverables are met and cross‑functional teams remain aligned.
Certifications:
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject or experience equivalent is preferred.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Minimal to intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
