Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of complex, safety-critical aerospace systems. This role is responsible for defining system architecture, managing requirements, and ensuring successful integration and validation across the full product lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end systems engineering activities, including requirements definition, architecture development, integration, and verification
- Define and maintain System Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and system-level design artifacts
- Architect and support real-time, safety-critical aerospace systems, including avionics networks
- Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams (systems, software, hardware)
- Act as primary technical interface with customers and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and satisfaction
- Drive system integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) strategies
- Support program execution including planning, risk management, and resource coordination
- Mentor engineers and contribute to organizational capability development
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Lead technology readiness and innovation efforts, including TRL assessments
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Aerospace, or related)
- ~15–20+ years of experience in systems engineering, preferably in aerospace or safety-critical domains
- Strong expertise in:
- System architecture and design
- Requirements development and management
- Integration, verification, and validation
- Experience with real-time embedded systems and avionics architectures
- Proven track record of technical leadership across complex programs
- Experience with AFDX or avionics communication networks
- Knowledge of aircraft systems (health monitoring, maintenance, FADEC)
- Experience working with OEMs (e.g., Airbus)
- Familiarity with TRL frameworks and regulatory certification processes
- Strong systems thinking and problem-solving
