Occupational Health Nurse
Duration: 12 Months
The OHW Nurse (RN) will provide clinical and occupational health and wellness services within their regulated scope of practice. Key responsibilities include providing care for sick or emergency care visits, counseling, wellness services and conducting surveillance activities. The OHW RN must have a working knowledge of regulations in relation to HIPAA, OSHA, Worker's Compensation, ADA, FMLA, in addition, the RN must be competent as it relates to diagnosis and treatment of occupational injuries and illnesses, emergency response triage, ergonomics and preventive care.
PositionResponsibilities
- Performs patient care activities (triage, counseling, patient education, sick or emergency care visits, first aid, and other activities as needed or directed).
- Provides preventative medicine and wellness services and counseling. Supports site health promotion and disease prevention programs.
- Conducts medical surveillance and new hire activities.
- Provides care for patients with occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Develops and updates clinical and operational procedures and protocols.
- Documents patient data in paper and electronic medical database(s), as applicable per standard protocols.
- Participates on site, regional or global committees/sub-teams as assigned.
- Reports to Site Occupational Health & Wellness Leader
- Works with the site EHS team
- Interacts with site HR
- Interacts with the Legal Division
- Interacts with the site business groups
- RN Board Certification
- COHN-S preferred
- 3-5 years experience as an OHW professional
- Demonstrates experience in acute episodic care, wellness care and counseling of adults
- Proficiency in use of electronic medical record keeping systems desirable
- Knowledge of Occupational Health Regulations
- Risk Avoidance/Minimization/Control
- Compliance Assessment & Auditing
