Data Staff, Inc. is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in Rocky Mount, NC.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a large-scale enterprise modernization initiative. This role will focus on front‑end business applications, user‑facing modules, workflow modernization, and enterprise integration efforts supporting citizen services and agency operations.

The Senior Business Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, project leadership, architects, developers, QA teams, and state agency personnel to support the modernization of mission‑critical systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong enterprise business analysis experience with emphasis on user‑facing application modules, requirements analysis, SQL/data analysis, Agile delivery methodologies, and large enterprise system implementations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead business analysis activities for large enterprise modernization programs supporting operations and citizen‑facing services.
  • Gather, analyze, document, and validate functional and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define user stories, business processes, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support modernization of front‑end user modules, portal functionality, and workflow‑driven applications.
  • Work closely with UX/UI teams, developers, QA analysts, and project managers in Agile delivery environments.
  • Perform data analysis and validation activities utilizing SQL and relational database technologies.
  • Analyze business rules, data flows, system interfaces, and integration requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, demos, and retrospective sessions.
  • Assist with testing coordination, defect analysis, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment readiness activities.
  • Document business processes, process improvements, workflows, and operational procedures.
  • Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams across multiple enterprise work streams.
  • Support organizational change management and end‑user adoption activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting large enterprise technology implementations.
  • Experience working on large‑scale modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Strong experience supporting front‑end business applications and user‑facing modules.
  • Hands‑on experience with SQL and relational database concepts.
  • Experience performing data analysis, data validation, and query development.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience creating user stories, process flows, use cases, business requirements documents, and functional specifications.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across cross‑functional enterprise teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting DMV, transportation, or public‑sector modernization initiatives.
  • Experience with enterprise workflow applications and customer‑facing portals.
  • Knowledge of API integrations and enterprise system interoperability.
  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops, Jira, or other Agile project management tools.
  • Experience supporting cloud modernization initiatives.
  • CBAP, PMI‑PBA, Scrum, or Agile‑related certifications preferred.

This opportunity is available on a corp‑to‑corp basis or as a W2 position with a competitive benefits package.
