For more information on Pro Mach’s brands visit  . Ossid is seeking a talented Field Service Technician to provide technical support/service to customers during the complete life cycle of a machine.

As a company machinery expert, this person will provide advice and physical assistance to the customer in identifying problems associated with the operation of OSSID overwrap, weigh price and labeling (WPL), and horizontal form fill and seal (HFFS) equipment and to provide innovative solutions to make the customer’s operations/processes operate more efficiently and economically.

Responsibilities
  • assembling a machine from the ground up (could be multiple machines)
  • assist engineering in startup of the equipment
  • work with customers during factory acceptance testing (FAT)
  • installation of machines at customers facilities
  • upgrades to current machines in the field
  • emergency field service

This position reports to the Service Manager.

Troubleshoot, repair, assemble, install and integrate machinery of a complex and involved design requiring a high level of technical skill/knowledge and independent problem solving skills.

Ensure all established inspection, testing, quality, and operating specifications are met.

Directs and or supervises customer’s personnel during plant machinery installations and integrations or servicing (repair and/or troubleshooting).

Identify and correct machine discrepancies.

Maintain positive customer relationships at all times.

Identify new product opportunities.

Make recommendations for product improvements.

Work from engineering drawings and specifications, detailed written and/or verbal instructions, handbooks, manuals, etc.

Provide assistance and work support for plant Operations Department receiving and responding to customers’ technical inquiries.

Function as a technical resource for the Sales Department’s Sales Representatives and Engineering Design Department to address and resolve inquiries and problems related to installation/integration or repair.

Perform final assembly, quality tests, and delivery preparation of equipment prior to shipment.

Prepare trip reports that update the company as to the status and condition of installed equipment conditions and identifies additional equipment/parts opportunities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • 5 years’ minimum experience in highly skilled technical support and/or building of an electro-mechanical product/system.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time, mostly domestic.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must have mechanical knowledge of how automation works and the ability to assemble machines.
  • Problem solving and independent judgment skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately use a variety of measuring instruments and to read and understand engineering designs which includes wiring schematics.
  • Capable of successfully handling a multi-tasked role.
  • Ability to read blue prints, (Solidworks, Autocad, etc.)
