responsibilities
- under the direction of the chief nursing officer/director of nursing, nurse manager or charge nurse, the registered nurse (rn) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit.
- provide direct patient care to medically complex and/or critically ill patients requiring extended hospitalization
- collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of medical professionals (respiratory therapists, physical therapists, case managers, dietitians, speech language pathologists, and more) to create and carry out individualized care plans
- educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, discharge planning, and community resources
- administer medications, iv therapies, and advanced wound care per physician order and protocols
- manage complex comorbidities such as sepsis, cardiac issues, strokes, post-surgery recovery, and chronic illness management
- may perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including charge nurse (acls certification required).
experience: one year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.#j-18808-ljbffr
