Role Summary

Provides competent clinical nursing care within professional standards, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director. Responsible for delivering patient care in a designated unit, following medical regimens, hospital policies, and the North Carolina Nursing Practice Act.

• Education:
  
  Identifies learning needs, participates in educational programs, and assesses patient/family readiness to learn.
• Care Evaluation:
  Sets expected outcomes, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, and communicates to ensure continuity of care.
• Implementation:
  Demonstrates competence in caring for patients with complex needs, utilizing standards and policies, prioritizing care, and consulting resources as needed.
• Leadership:
  Develops professional growth goals, promotes collaboration, participates in unit goals, and supports a safe environment.
• Patient Assessment:
  Recognizes priority data, evaluates discharge needs, and fosters relationships with families to advocate for patient and family needs.
• Planning:
  Collaborates with patients and families, considers cultural factors, and prioritizes tasks for complex cases.
• Research:
  Engages with current literature, bringing applicable ideas to the team for practice improvement.

• Graduation from a nursing program and licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of two years of dialysis nursing experience.
