Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to incarcerated patients, including assessments, treatments, and documentation
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per provider orders and facility protocols
• Respond to urgent and emergent medical situations, triage needs, and coordinate higher-level care when needed
• Collaborate with physicians, mental health providers, and correctional staff to support comprehensive inmate care
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and ensure compliance with state and facility regulations
• Participate in health screenings, chronic disease management, and patient education initiatives
• Follow infection control, safety, and security procedures within the correctional environment
• Support orientation and mentoring of new nursing staff and contribute to a positive team culture
