Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role as a Store Manager in Rocky Mount, NC. Store Manager is responsible for the overall management and direct operation of a store operating under the EP Mart banner. Additional responsibilities include effective team leadership, coaching, counseling, store image and achievement of financial results. Store Manager is required to work a minimum of 45 hours per week and one weekend a month.

Qualifications
  • Responsible for overall appearance and cleanliness of location.
  • Provides guidance and direction to Assistant Manager, Shift Leader and Sales Associates daily
  • Maximizes store sales by following direction given by District Manager and implementing merchandising programs, providing information (feedback) and recapping performance of promotional activities.
  • Manages controllable costs including but not limited to labor, cash, shrink and expenses.
  • Meets or exceeds budgeted goals in these areas.
  • Achieves financial objectives set by company, meeting/exceeding annual/monthly budgets.
  • Works with District Manager to analyze variances and initiates corrective action within a timely manner.
  • Implements and executes company policies and procedures.
  • Develop, plan, and attend monthly meetings with staff, discussing any store related issues and ideas, improvement of the store, increase store sales, and implement monthly promotions.
  • Contributes and participates in quarterly and yearly company and/or manager meetings.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for Assistant Managers, Shift Leaders and Sales Associates in a positive manner, identifying strengths and opportunities. Creates individual goals for the following year.
  • Responsible for staffing, including assistance in recruiting, selection, and orientation processes, assists with employee development and training programs.
  • Discusses, communicates, and collaborates all managerial candidates with the District Manager before hiring or promotion offer is presented.
  • Ensures compliance with requirements by enforcing adherence to policies and procedures, and governmental regulations; advises store associates of needed actions and reports needed resources and/or compliance/requirement opportunities to the District Manager.
  • Implements non-discriminatory related management skills while hiring, training, counseling, motivating and separating employees.
  • Execute procedures to ensure increased profitability for the store, developing salespeople and management to become invested in their location.
  • Implements and executes programs to maintain inventory control installed by District Manager and hold personnel accountable for non-compliance.
  • Ensures execution of all security, mystery shop, in-stock, health and safety programs.
  • Completes Gas Price Surveys and Gas Price Changes correctly and in required time frames.
  • Conducts cash audits of each associate monthly.
  • Counts and records operational funds (register, safe, etc.) daily.
  • Conducts a store walk upon arrival and directly before leaving to assess and prioritize duties and objectives for associates.
  • Counts and records all lottery scratch tickets within location daily and ensures management staff completes.
  • Conducts ATM audits daily and ensures management staff completes.
  • Counts and records all cigarette product within location daily and ensures management staff completes.
  • Manages Deli program, maintaining/exceeding gross margin % expectations and hold all involved accountable.
  • Completes and successfully transmits a grocery order to our grocery distributor within requested time frames.
  • Ensures vendors meet expectations by evaluation of performance and developing partnerships.
  • Participates in Shrink Investigations, whether at assigned store or requested by District Manager, cooperating, and identifying opportunities.
  • Ensures implementation of marketing plans and initiatives by communicating with all associates, identifying expectations each month.
  • Implements and enforces all policies, regulations, and procedures for all age verification products, holding all associates accountable.
  • Secures and protects all company assets (inventory, property, cash, lottery, etc.) by adhering to responsibilities, job description, safety regulations, etc.
  • Prepares, counts, verifies, records, and takes deposit daily, ensuring all management staff completes in absence of store manager.
