Position SummaryThe Electrical Foreman is responsible for managing a specific section of job site operations on the projects assigned to achieve timely and profitable completion. The Electrical Foreman directly supervises the field labor force, including laborers and craft workers. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and customer service skills.
Skills and Abilities- Effective communication skills
- Goal oriented and can react quickly to challenging circumstances to achieve desired results
- General knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations
- Skilled in Electrical trades on an industrial level
- Strong ability to read, interpret and explain drawings and specifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Trade License is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project estimating software preferred
- Experience managing people, work sequencing, and scheduling within projects
- Day-to-day onsite supervision of labor force, subcontractors and other construction related personnel
- Confront difficult situations and manage to a successful conclusion, while also maintaining appropriate documentation as needed
- Assist with providing technical assistance (interpretation of drawings, recommendation of construction methods and equipment, etc.) as required
- Maintain good relationships with internal and external customers, including representatives of customers
- Manage a look ahead no less than two weeks to proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions
- Create and maintain a culture that values respect, safety, health and cleanliness
- Communicate and enforce Safety Processes/Policies
- Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring others
- Distribute work to tradesmen and ensure all activities take place on or ahead of schedule
- Maintain daily paperwork such as timecards, field reports, schedule updates and email correspondence
- May work inside or outside, in environments that may be hot/cold/wet, etc.
- Repetitive movement, including but not limited to, squatting, standing, bending, walking, climbing, etc.
- Must be able to walk on both level and unlevel surfaces, and use hands to feel/operate tools, objects, controls, etc.
- May be exposed to fumes, flashing light, sparks, flames
- May be required to lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis
- Must be able to operate company vehicles (clean driving record)
