About the Role
Early Intervention Service Coordinator (S) is a professional‑level position within the early intervention branch at local Children’s Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs). The role focuses on providing in‑home or center‑based consultation services for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers (ages 0‑3) with or at risk for developmental delays, disabilities, or atypical development.
Responsibilities- Develop, negotiate, implement, monitor, and adjust individualized family service plans (IFSPs) and coordinate specialized services such as physical, occupational, psychological, and speech therapies.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments using formal assessment tools and make independent clinical judgments regarding appropriate services.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to determine families’ needs and coordinate supports and services.
- Conduct home visits and workspace visits to provide in‑home or center‑based consultation.
- Coordinate and facilitate transition planning, authorization, and monitoring of early intervention services.
- Serve as a program consultant/liaison within the community and provide consultation to community agencies and technical guidance to staff.
- Monitor and supervise in‑home service provided by contracted and enrolled service providers.
- Provide family support, teach parents and care providers skills to enhance child development, and advocate for resources.
- Maintain thorough documentation, meet timelines, and enforce procedural safeguards.
- Proficient knowledge of early childhood developmental disabilities and infant mental health concepts, practices, and techniques.
- Skill in developing, writing, and documenting child progress in IFSPs.
- Ability to coordinate and instruct staff, family members, and care providers in specialized methods.
- Strong relational skills to establish rapport with clients, families, community agencies, and diverse service disciplines.
- Excellent time‑management and organizational skills to meet documentation and procedural requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in special education, elementary education, early childhood education, psychology, or a related human services field and two to three years of professional experience working with the population served; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hourly Rate: $24.40 (based on education and/or years of relevant experience).
