Social Worker Clinical (S) – NC14

Temporary position located in Rocky Mount, Johnston County; assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services at 141 Storage Rd., Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

Effective July 1, 2025, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications listed. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities are management preferences used to screen the most qualified applicants.

Primary responsibility is to provide eligibility evaluations for children referred to the NC Infant‑Toddler Program.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $34.35 (based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

Temporary employees working an average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). This position does not offer leave or retirement benefits.

• Considerable knowledge of a wide range of behavior and psychosocial problems and their diagnosis and treatment.
• Considerable knowledge of family and group dynamics and a range of intervention techniques, as well as principles of casework and training.
• Considerable knowledge of treatment planning.
• Considerable knowledge of governmental and private organizations, resources in the community, laws, regulations, and policies that govern the program.
• Thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices, and their application to complex casework, group work, and community problems.
• Skill in establishing rapport with a client and applying techniques or assessing psychosocial, behavioral, and psychological aspects of client problems.
• Ability to supervise, train, or instruct lower‑level social workers or students in the program.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with members of the case load and their families, as well as civic, legal, social, and religious organizations.
• Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively.
• Ability to work independently, as well as with a variety of interdisciplinary team members.
• Ability to formulate appropriate goals and interventions.

Master’s degree from an accredited social work school. Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from the NC SW Certification and Licensure Board is required.

Necessary Special Qualification Requirements:
Fulfill all requirements for licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.
