Distribution Associate – Daily Desk

Person in this position will pick and pack orders for daily shipment to customers. They will display the ability to work closely with others and as a team.

• Obtain pick tickets from the daily desk and/or Shipping Clerk, prioritise based on ship date and carrier.
• Pull and pack bulk material for Regional Distribution Centers.
• Coordinate daily shipments with customer services.
• Pull and assemble hardware, trough, and wire products according to customer order.
• Package material into boxes and onto skids.
• Scan all material with a scan gun to verify accuracy and completeness.
• Affix appropriate labels and packing lists.
• Prepare appropriate shipping documents.
• Operate stretch‑wrap machine to secure boxes and reels to a skid.
• Operate forklift to load customer orders onto outgoing trucks.
• Log all shipped orders into the computer system.
• Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and other inventory control activities.

• Good physical condition, walking and standing majority of the day.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Above‑average forklift driving skills (may be taught).
• Attention to detail required in correct item and quantity.
• Material identification critical to detect quality issues.
• Basic computer skills required to operate scan gun and shipping programs.
• Basic math skills required to count items.
• Initiative needed to drive own performance.
• Direct supervision always available but not over your shoulder.
