Sr. Category Analyst (CPG)

This position offers a hybrid 3-4 days per week. You will support the category advisor team and build a strong partnership with our Client by providing merchandising solutions and decision support that drive business growth.

You will conduct high‑quality analysis and synthesis of multi‑source data to evaluate item performance, assortment planning, and store clustering through the modular process, while leveraging effective communication and influencing to orchestrate action.

• Leverage retailer POS data, NielsenIQ, Circana (IRI), and other relevant data sources to maintain weekly reporting that evaluates item performance.
• Develop and deliver ad‑hoc reporting that creates actionable insights and recommendations to support sales line reviews.
• Identify opportunities for category growth and sales improvement based on data analysis.
• Track and report on the performance of core and new product initiatives.
• Serve as the internal category expert, providing insights on pricing, promotional impacts, positioning, competitive landscape, and market needs.
• Stay up to date on market trends and consumer behavior.
• Collaborate with category managers, sales teams, and other stakeholders to implement category strategies.
• Effectively communicate data‑driven insights and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Participate in the development of sales presentations and sell‑in stories.

• Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Marketing, Statistics).
• Work Experience Requirements: Experience with retailer POS data, syndicated data sources (e.g., NielsenIQ, Circana), and JDA software. 3+ years of experience in category management, retail analysis, or a related field.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, SAS, R, Python) is a plus. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Understanding of the CPG industry and retail landscape. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
