Senior Category Growth Manager
Accelerate profitable growth for Kraft Heinz by setting and executing a clear category strategy grounded in customer insights, market dynamics, and financial rigor. Partner cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Analytics to identify and unlock growth opportunities, align stakeholders to a shared plan, and drive disciplined execution. Influence without authority, elevate category thinking across the organization, and coach stakeholders toward best‑in‑class category management, including assortment, pricing, promotion, and channel strategy.
EssentialFunctions & Responsibilities
- Establish trust and rapport with key customers and SVPs/VPs to be an indispensable partner of choice for total store needs; meet consistently to discuss ideation, scoping and partnership on strategic projects.
- Create and implement breakthrough customer strategies to accelerate market share gains and profitable growth for customers and KHC, anchored in shopper insights.
- Identify and proactively share whitespace opportunities for category growth.
- Lead major customer engagements, including strategy alignment, building new engagements that build resilient categories.
- Achieve business objectives by understanding customer goals, strategies, capabilities, and operational channels.
- Serve as a thought leader and strategic advisor to the Sales Org.
- Elevate category leadership impact with the Area Leadership Team and cross‑functional partners, including Business Unit, Customer Business Development and Insights.
- Translate strategy into an integrated category plan—assortment, pricing, promotion, placement, innovation, and channels—with clear milestones and owners.
- Identify whitespace opportunities using internal performance data and external market signals such as competitive moves, shopper behavior shifts, and macro trends.
- Lead insight generation from syndicated data, customer POS, loyalty, digital analytics, and primary research.
- Develop and socialize a clear shopper/customer narrative describing who is buying, why, how missions are evolving, and what triggers switching.
- Convert insights into actionable recommendations for portfolio roles, pack-price architecture, shelving/navigation, and messaging.
- Maintain competitive intelligence and test‑and‑learn insights to continuously refine the category plan.
- Play a leadership role with the Customer Development Organization to drive best practice sharing and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to Customer Business Teams on category, brand, and market performance to maximize growth opportunities.
- Operate as a thought‑leadership partner to identify opportunities and risks, and build offensive and defensive plans.
- Maximize usage of current data capabilities to create a competitive advantage for category growth, rooted in deep shopper insights.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies that can advance KHC and category objectives.
- Possess technical expertise with large data management systems.
- Demonstrated thought leadership and impact in category management.
- Experience in the CPG industry, preferably in Category Leadership/Management.
- Experience with big‑data/shopper card systems and ability to transform data into compelling stories.
- Proven ability to create and implement business strategy.
- Skill in crafting shopper‑centric, category‑focused narratives that resonate with retailers.
- Mastery of financial and business acumen to develop solutions that yield desired business results.
- This remote role offers in‑office flexibility (3 days on site, 2 days remote if desired).
- Travel up to 10% of time.
