Joining our BV Construction group offers an on‑site, hands‑on environment where you can develop your skills in safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, startup, decommissioning, and field engineering.
As the day‑to‑day on‑site representative of the Owner(s), you will monitor construction progress, safety conditions, QA/QC programs, and maintain effective communication with the general contractor (GC), subcontractors, suppliers, and other service personnel. You will act as the Owner’s liaison in daily communications and ensure all work is performed to the highest safety, quality, and project standards.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in Pre‑Construction Conferences chaired by the EOR’s PM.
- Prepare project communication plans, set guidelines for meetings and written communication, and organize job progress status meetings.
- Distribute agendas and conference notes.
- Participate with GC personnel in QA/QC activities and review, certify, and file field testing reports.
- Water pipe pressure testing (DIP, SS and PVC).
- Hydrostatic testing of tanks and water‑containing concrete structures.
- Gas pipe pressure testing.
- Low‑pressure testing of gravity piping.
- Concrete pre‑pour documentation.
- Review third‑party test reports for spec compliance.
- Monitor third‑party testing to ensure correct number and types of tests.
- Take and file daily construction photos, documenting conditions not viewable later (e.g., underground piping).
- Review status of building permits, ensure all required permits are obtained and inspections are conducted, and verify permit close‑out and Certificate of Occupancy where applicable.
- Review and certify GC pay applications, earned value, material and equipment documentation, and finalize pay checks.
- Review and certify change orders (COs) and potential COs (PCOs); evaluate validity, complete costing backup, perform reasonableness reviews, and execute formal COs in concurrence with Owner(s).
- Assist in expediting requests for information (RFIs) and review turnaround of RFIs and submittals between EOR and GC.
- Document construction issues and coordinate solutions with GC, Owner(s), and EOR.
- High School Diploma or geographical equivalent.
- Engineering, Quality, Business, or Construction Management degree or craft apprenticeship.
- 3+ years as Superintendent with a degree, or 5+ years without a degree.
- Must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle record searches.
- Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move, and walk long distances in confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
- Use hands to handle tools and controls per procedures.
- Perform repetitive motions.
- Work above 5 feet in height; climb and maintain balance on steel frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
- Endure 12‑hour shifts in varying temperature extremes.
- Work in a typical construction site environment, including exposure to extreme heat or cold, dust, wind, rain, bright or low lighting, noise, and hazardous equipment.
