The Assistant Director of Nursing provides leadership and administrative support for the nursing programs within the Nursing Department, including the Practical Nursing ( LPN ), Registered Nursing (RN), and Patient Care Technician ( PCT ) programs. The position supports program operations, accreditation compliance, faculty coordination, and student success while teaching a half‑time instructional load.
Academic Leadership and Program Support- Assist the Director of Nursing in the administration and coordination of the LPN , RN, and PCT programs.
- Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing curriculum across multiple delivery formats including face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online instruction.
- Ensure compliance with state board of nursing regulations, accreditation standards, and college policies.
- Participate in program review, strategic planning, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist with scheduling of courses and faculty assignments across multiple campuses.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to full‑time and adjunct nursing faculty.
- Assist with faculty orientation, evaluation, and professional development.
- Support instructional quality and consistency across courses and campuses.
- Assist in developing and maintaining partnerships with local healthcare facilities for clinical placements.
- Support coordination and oversight of student clinical experiences.
- Ensure clinical placements meet regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Teach a half load of nursing coursework each semester in classroom, laboratory, simulation, or online environments.
- Develop course materials aligned with program outcomes and accreditation standards.
- Evaluate student learning and provide academic advising and support.
- Participate in student recruitment, retention, and progression initiatives.
- Assist with student advising and program orientation.
- Address student concerns in collaboration with faculty and the Director of Nursing.
- Assist with accreditation preparation and reporting.
- Collect and analyze data related to program outcomes, including licensure pass rates, retention, and job placement.
- Support preparation of reports required by regulatory and accrediting bodies.
- Serve on college committees as assigned.
- Participate in community outreach and workforce partnership initiatives.
- Represent the nursing programs within the college and the broader healthcare community.
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
- Current unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (or eligibility for licensure in the state).
- Minimum 3–4 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Prior teaching experience in nursing education.
- Knowledge of nursing accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Doctorate in Nursing or a related field (DNP, PhD, EdD).
- Experience with community college nursing programs.
- Administrative or program leadership experience.
Minimum Salary or Salary Range: $55,233 + $8,000 Nursing Stipend + $8,000 Assistant Director Stipend
